Today, Israeli astronaut Eytan Stibbe will begin initiating the experiments he took with him to the International Space Station as part of the Rakia Mission. Sheba Medical Center sent 6 unique experiments with Stibbe that will test the boundaries of human physiology in space and on Earth.

Specifically, Dr. Yaacov Lawrence, a Sheba Oncologist, developed a device to monitor the function of astronauts’ immune systems in space which will be used on this flight into space. This data may provide scientists with new ways to strengthen immune systems in the future. Read more via The Times of Israel:
